Practice Announcement
September 20, 2024

All pharmacies are vaccinating children 12 years and up.

Parents of children 6 months through 11 years of age can call the COVID Vaccine Appointment Line at Guilford County Health Department 336-641-3245 and schedule their appointment. They are doing the vaccines Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm.

Recommended Vaccines and Screenings

We strive to ensure that all of our patients, as well as our community, are as healthy as possible. This involves regular well child visits, or “check-ups,” during which vaccinations and/or behavioral screenings are administered. Our pediatricians recommend parents vaccinate their children per the schedule supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Click on the links below to learn more about the vaccinations your child will receive at their scheduled well visits.

Influenza* Yearly vaccine available in Fall starting at 6 months old. Patient may need 2 influenza vaccines 1 months apart if this is their first year receiving the yearly influenza vaccine.

HPV* The HPV (human papilloma virus) vaccine is a 2 dose series (6 months apart) approved starting at 9 years old. Our office routinely administers this at the 11 year old visit, however may be given early due to patient or provider preference. If the first dose is given on or after 15 years old, it is a 3 dose series

Cholesterol* AAP recommends cholesterol screening between the ages of 9-11 years old, between the ages of 17-25 years old, and as frequently as every 2 years when risk factors are present

The meningitis B vaccine is a 2 dose series (1 month apart) administered 16 years old or older.
