Dr. Cooper grew up in small town North Carolina. He was born in Asheboro,NC and mostly grew up in Advance, NC. He loves sports, including basketball and tennis. Today however you are most likely to see him in the community driving his children to swim meets and volunteering at swim events. His interest in medicine developed after his mother spent nearly a year in the hospital during the time he was in high school. He believes his interest in pediatrics developed after he noted how many illnesses adults face occur because of habits they form as children. His goals including helping his patients develop healthy habits so they can be the best they can be.
